2023 ITS INDUCTION & RANK ADVANCEMENT CEREMONY
The ITS Induction and Rank Advancement Ceremony will be held on Tues., Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. in the auditiorium. All parents and students are invited to this formal recognition of Excellence in High School Theatre. Our speaker will be Jonathan Walker-VanKuren, musical theatre professor at Lebanon Valley College. Inductees have accumulated at least 100 hours of service to Palmyra Theatre and participate in service and community activities throughout the year. To remain active, they must participate in one of the annual productions.
Students should report at 5 p.m. and wear professional clothing.
Parents are invited to join us at 6 p.m. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m.
*Inductions will be followed by the 7 p.m. Newsies parent meeting and student workshop! All are encouraged to attend.

CAST AUDITIONS
Cast members should attend the Tues., Nov. 14 DISNEY’S NEWSIES Workshop, 7-9 p.m. (following ITS Inductions) where we will review the audition pieces and review “Carrying the Banner (Tag).” Cast members must also complete the audition registration form prior to midnight on Sunday, Nov. 12. All cast members will be expected to learn “Carrying the Banner (Tag)” for auditions and attend the Sat, Nov. 18 Dance Call.
Cast members wishing to audition for a featured role must prepare an approximately 30 sec–1 minute monologue and one of the four DISNEY’S NEWSIES vocal options. Male Indentifying: The Bottom Line (mes. 37-70) OR Seize the Day (mes. 29-52). Female Identifying: Watch What Happens (mes. 116-153) OR That’s Rich (mes. 45-73). Sign Up Times will be posted soon. NEWSIES PIT, SUBMISSIONS DUE NOV. 16
Unlike many high schools that use all professional musicians, the pit for our shows is mainly student-led. While a few professionals will be brought in to fill in the gaps and share their educational knowledge, all instrument positions will be offered to any student who wants to take part in this unique experience.

DISNEY’S NEWSIES is a fun and exciting show and has lots of opportunity for creativity and involvement. We’ll meet Thurs., Jan. 11 to discuss the tech and production needs for a show that’s unlike any other PHS has seen before.
