PLATINUM
SCRIPT SERIES

Starting in 2017, students, parents, and community members have been getting together to share in a script reading series that consists of musicals, plays, and a wild card choices. 

In its inaugural year, the Platinum Script Series included reads and discussions of Heathers: The Musical, the rock musical with music, lyrics, and a book by Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy and based on the 1988 cult film Heathers; and, The Flick, a play by Annie Baker that received the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and won the 2013 Obie Award for Playwriting.

Additional Platinum Script Series have included:

• KEN LUDWIG's MIDSUMMER/JERSEY by Ken Ludwig (Starting Sept. 2018)

• 26 PEBBLES by Eric Ulloa

• A CHORUS LINE by James Kirkwood, Nicholas Dante, Marvin Hamlisch, and Edward Kleban

• City of Angels, a musical comedy with music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by David Zippel, and a book by Larry Gelbart

During script read meetings, participants take turns reading parts, examining scenes, discussing potential directing choices, and comparing writing approaches to other pieces.
